Restored by God's Refining Love 💖
Advent calls us to embrace God's refining work as He restores us in hope.
😊☀️👋🏻 Good morning, friend!
Hello, my friend! This is Pastor Blake, and I’m so thankful you’re here today.
Have you ever cleaned out something old and broken to restore it to its original beauty? Whether it’s an antique piece of furniture or a messy part of your life, restoration takes work—but it’s worth it. Today, we’ll reflect on how God’s refining work in us leads to hope and restoration, no matter how messy life gets.
Let’s begin this journey together.
🙏 HUMBLE
Begin this time pondering the following questions:
What are you thankful for today?
What burdens, fears, or areas of sin do you need to release to God today?
Now, let’s ask God to help us find HOPE in Him today:
“Lord, open my heart and mind to Your Word today. Help me to see the hope You have for me in these pages. Shine Your light on every truth, and guide me to understand, trust, and apply what You reveal. May Your presence transform my heart and fill me with the hope only You can give. Amen.”
📖 OBSERVE
Now, let’s observe what God has to say in His Word:
READ: Psalm 90; Isaiah 1:24-31; Luke 11:29-32
Devotional Focus: Isaiah 1:25-26
“I will turn my hand against you; I will thoroughly purge away your dross and remove all your impurities. I will restore your leaders as in days of old.”
Reflection:
Isaiah delivers a message of both judgment and hope. God’s refining process may feel painful, but it is driven by His love. His goal is restoration—purging away sin and renewing His people for His purposes.
During Advent, we are invited to reflect on our own need for restoration. As we prepare our hearts to celebrate Christ’s coming, we also prepare for His refining work. The hope we find in Him is a hope that transforms us from the inside out.
Reflection Questions:
What areas of your life need God’s refining work?
How can embracing His restoration bring you closer to Him?
💡 PERSONALIZE
Now to make this personal in your life, consider this question:
What is one area where God is encouraging you to grow or change?
