Reflecting on Comfort vs. Compassion – Jonah 4:5-10

Hey there friend,

I hope you’re doing well! I wanted to share some thoughts and reflections on this week's podcast episode, and I think it’ll resonate—especially if you've ever wrestled with the tension between living comfortably and living out God’s calling.

In this episode, I reflect on a summary of a sermon given by Hunter Randolph from Jonah 4:5-10. The passage paints a striking contrast between God's heart for the people of Nineveh and Jonah’s focus on his own comfort (a plant, to be exact). It’s challenging and, honestly, hits close to home. We often find ourselves prioritizing our own comfort, don’t we?

While I didn’t hear Hunter’s full message, his summary got me thinking about how we can align our hearts with God’s compassion and mission, even when it’s uncomfortable. In the podcast, we’ll explore the passage together, dive into some cross-references, and challenge ourselves to see others through God’s eyes.
